My father's masterpiece

Hello everyone. Was sitting in my dining room this morning looking at my fathers drawing/calligraphic? masterpiece, this map which he drew by hand sometime in his relative youth in the 50's, and realized that the folks on this forum might enjoy looking at it too.

i rescued it from above my mothers dining room mantle (she was replacing it) had it framed with archival glass and hung it on a wall without direct sunlight some years ago. Most people who see it are stunned that its hand drawn.

in the 90's my dad got back into calligraphy and my mother has some beautiful pieces he did later in life. But alas, I don't know much about his history or journey with pen and ink. Add it to the growing list of things I wish I had asked him.....like did he actually speak French?

Anyway, I hope you enjoy.

That's fairly impressive. And by fairly, I mean very. And by very I mean WOW!

I've always been impressed by the artistic quality of really old maps, say those from the 17th through 19th centuries in particular. Good for your dad trying to keep that art form alive.
