My "combo from hell."

Have any of you found that a specific blade in a specific razor will treat your face like a meat cleaver?

No matter how careful I try to be, a Gillette 7 OC yellow in a Merkur 38C leaves me covered with weepers, whereas I usually don't get any, or perhaps one. Do you have a combo from hell?

A Mach III in my right hand, and a can of Edge in my left.



So far though, a Feather in my Slim set to 9 - my technique left something to be desired & I had multiple nicks & weepers.

No matter how hard i try , the multi cart always cuts me.... i wonder why?

For some reason when a put a Feather or KAI in a Super Speed, it messes me up but when I pair it with any NEW especially my NEW Deluxe, it's smooth!

I had a thread on this a while back, but I'd love to say it again. A Darwin Deluxe paired with ANY blade gives me the worst shave humanly possible. I'd go back to shaving with a Mach 3 if my Darwin was my only DE option.

Feathers in my fatip spells burn for me.

I find any razor and too much pressure will do it for me. If I lay off that pressure I get a decent shave from just about anything.

My "combo from hell" would be:

Topaz blade
Rusty razor
Williams shave soap
Burma Shave boar brush
Lilac Vegetal after shave

Anything with a shark blade, its quite the tug o war match.

I think we can all name a blade that will not work in any hardware. It's trickier to find a blade you normally like that just won't work in a particular razor.
The closest I come to that scenario is an Astra (which works great with everything else) in my HD Rocket.
