What's new

My all-time favorite

L'Eau D'Issey by Issey Miyake. The ladies have been loving it for 10 years plus. Always my fall-back whenever I have difficulty selecting a scent.

You're right -- my wife bought L'Eau D'Issey for me. She loves it. I like it, too, though I can't say it's my favorite scent. But it's certainly part of the rotation. And it never hurts to wear a gift from the wife!

It is a great scent. I'm not for sure, but I think it was one of the pivotal scents that when launched, started a new aquatic direction for men's frags.

I do wear it on occasion, and indeed women do like it. But like a couple of others here referenced, it is very mainstream. Whenever I wear it, I usually run into at least one other guy wearing it.
It must be a huge seller, because I notice of late, they've taken to selling it in various limited edition bottles (concrete finish on bottle; wood finish on bottle). That strikes me as way to give those who buy it a lot some variety.

I agree with the mainstream comments, it can be easily purchased at any major department store fragrance counter. A foray into more esoteric scents is something I'm looking into.

I went to check it out based on some stuff I heard on here and it reminded me of T&H 1805. I'm wondering if I just picked up the 1805 cologne if there would be a difference in notes that would differentiate it enough from Issey's offering.

Infact, if there is anyone here who has some L'eau D'issey that they would like to unload, fire me off a PM.

Don't worry about that...if you like either of them, wear them. A lot of us here like a lot of variety and just like to explore different scents, many of which are not as commonly available.

If it works for you and you like it, go for it. Any men's scent that gets classified as "mainstream" got that status primarily because women love it on men. Some of us wear scents for a variety of reasons for sure. But far and away, number one reason men wear scents is for women.
