cleaned up fairly well considering what i had to work with. still some staining on the handle that is very visible when it is wet, but not so much when the razor is dry. the head is really worn but all of the teeth are in tact and none bent. i'm pleased for $2. first time shaving with a gillette new.

That cleaned up real nice. That'd be a good find at 5x the price, maybe even 10x.

Hey! I have that exact razor I recently found for about the same price. Yours is in better shape. Debating if I should get it plated. Hmm. Congrats on your score!:001_cool:

Ya def a steal. I am happy the way it turned out. I didn't think there would be anything left to it. I thought about getting this one replated as well but I might just keep it the way it is. I like the vintage look.

Great score — you could hardly have beaten the price! I've never shaved with a short-comb New, but if it's anything like my long-comb, then you may soon find it displacing every other razor in your rotation.

Great work! What a beautiful piece of kit. Id love to know what products you used and how much time you spent transforming it back to a great working razor?

For two bucks? Tell me, did you have to wear a mask when you pulled off that heist? Seriously well played, sir!:a14::a14:

Everyone has said that will be the best shave. I did get a close shave but I think I need to try some other blades. I used the Astra and they aren't very aggressive.

I used scrubbing bubbles and soaked it for 30 minutes then scrubbed with a toothbrush. Then soaked it in white vinegar for 45 minutes to take the verdigris off. Then I soaked it in simple green for 30 minutes to take any remaining crud off of it.

And tell me about it. I couldn't believe it was listed at $2. I also got a schick 66 injector for $2 which was in the same spot in store.
