Mustang Convertible Hire Car

Going to the States in 4 weeks time & will be driving from LA to Vegas at some point. Looking to get a hire car so my question is would a Mustang Convertible be big enough for 3 adults (1 small) and 3 suitcases etc or should I be looking at something bigger?

Not sure how big the boot (trunk

) is on these bad boys?

My other options are Chrysler 300C or Dodge Avenger etc

How small is the small adult? Mustang back seats are very small..as are all of the 'pony cars'..that includes the Camaro and the Challenger.
To be on the safe side I would go with the 300C or a Dodge Charger..or even a Ford Taurus if they have them. The new Taurus is a damn sharp car.

That's a really nice car, but I agree that it's probably too small for your group. Also not sure a convertible is the best choice for August in the desert.

My Mustang (2005 GT) actually had a decent-sized trunk (boot) for that type of car, but I don't think I could have put 3 suitcases in it. The convertible would be even more doubtful.

Mustang back seats are unfit for adults for more than a 10-15 minute ride. With my driver's seat in a comfortable position (I am about 6' tall), there was literally only about 6-7", max, of clearance between my seatback and the rear seat cushion edge. LA to Vegas would be miserable for whoever got wedged into the back seat.

I rented a Mustang convertible last year and i would saw the back seat was unfit for anybody. I'm 6'4" and could spare no room for anyone in the back. I would say go with something bigger.

Thanks for the replies. The small adult is about 5'6" (standing on a telephone book ha) and he'll be the one in the back. Maybe it's still a bit cramped for him & I should go for something bigger.

Whats the ford taurus look like? We dont get them in the UK so have no idea what size it is or what engine it has etc?
