Love the way this razor looks (love Rose Gold) but have never used a modern DE. I only have vintage Gillette's. I have no idea if one is better than another. So in short is the Rose Gold R-89 worth the $72.00 price tag. Would love to hear from people who have one. Thanks guys!

value is very subjective... if you want the rose gold then your choices are very limited. the production quality is likely outstanding based on the the other 89 models
the 89 head is very nice, a bit mild and it probably is comparable to a particular vintage gillette.
tell us which model gillette do you appreciate the most and someone can give you a comparison of the two.

Maybe the President, which currently my favorite. Also have a FB and love my New's.
If you really like the rose gold, then you better jump on it since it's limited edition. If you decide the R89 is too mild, you could always put a R41 head on it instead. Muhle also makes a matching rose gold silvertip brush FWIW.

LOL the R-41 scares the bejeepers out of me! I love Gillette OC but not sure about the 41 at all.
Have one of your Vintage Gillettes replated in rose gold.
i would probably go this route. while the handle is cool, i think a whole rose gold razor would look nice. i think i have already seen someone here do that.
I have the rose gold Muhle and it is the razor that reach for almost every day. It is a gorgeous well crafted razor, with a handle very similar to the Edwin Jagger Barleycorn, but with the gold.
My other razors are the Feather AS-D1 a birth year Slim and a couple of EJ models. I am able to use all of these to get a DFS-to-BBS everyday from any of these, but I just love the looks of the Muhle.
And if they made it in the Grande length, I would pick it up in a heartbeat.

Although a good idea, I'm thinking about branching out a little and was wondering if it's a good razor and how people who owned it feel.
