Unless they're available in bulk to purchase a tiny sample amount first to see if you like it, I would stay away from both. In Canada, 50 g pouches of Brigham/Mr. B's tobacco usually cost just as much as tins of premium import brands ($24-$32), and from my experiences with Brigham stuff, I find it to be inferior tobacco. Not necessarily poor quality, but very weak in flavour and almost always artifically sweetened to some degree, even their "English" blends.
That said, the reviews for Rise and Shine seem to be better, for whatever that's worth. I personally haven't tried either of them.
Hey, how'd you make out on your Sunday trip? Did you end up getting any tobacco?
The trip across the boarder was a lot of fun but we didn't have time to stop and shop. We got a little lost, showed up a little late and ran into a detour on the way back. Everyone was getting frustrated on the way home so I just didn't stop. I'm kicking myself now.
I've tried the Tudor Mixture and don't remember if it was good or bad, that's probably not a good sign. I had some Rise and Shine but it was really dry and burn quick with little vitamin N.
The local B&M has been giving guys from the pipe club discounts on tobacco and pipes, not much, but I'm trying to find things to buy from him to keep him in business.
