Most popular soap in your country

Hi,
La Toja and Lea are the most popular made in Spain soaps . What about your country? Which is the most popular local soap?
Regards.

I don't think there are any mass market shaving soaps actually made in the US. The most popular shaving soap here in the US is clearly the German made Tabac. :thumbup1:

Surely you jest. VDH with Williams as a runner-up have to far outpace Tabac. You're confusing B&B with the US at large. Even if each drugstore sells just two or three pucks of the above a month, that's going to far out pace Tabac.

Of course, you are right!! In my defense, I posted that early in the morning, and clearly was not fully awake yet.:lol:

Seriously, I feel very dumb now. Clearly both VDH, and Williams are US made, and would far outsell the niche market that is B and B.:lol:

Seriously, how did I forget about a value minded product, that I defend all of the time, and like a lot?? Wow. :blushing::blush:

P.S. VDH is very popular at my local Wal-Mart. When fully stocked, they have about 15 pucks on the shelf, but I have seen the supply as low as 2-3 on the shelf before.

VDH and Williams are the biggest US made soaps no doubt. The VDH I can understand as I love it but WILLIAMS??? Geez it ticks me off when I enter a drugstore and the ONLY soap they have is Williams! It tells me they not only know nothing about wetshaving but don't care enough to have just a little variety :mad3: That stuff lathers like dishwashing liquid and smells like bugspray.

Williams and Van der Hagen soaps are both domestic products ... and considering how many retail stores carry them, they must be big sellers.

Granted, many people move on to something else after they give these two soaps a try.

Maybe if you're talking about members of this forum, but I would argue that we're hardly representative of the public at large.

I would agree, based upon how well VDH, and Williams sell in my area, there are thousands of people in the US happily using a cheap brush, and Williams/VDH everyday of their lives; and since they are oblivious that other products exist, they are quite happy to do so*.

*Note I could happily use VDH everyday, but that seems to be out of the ordinary around these parts.
