Most Moisturizing Cream ?

I sometimes feel my skin is a little “tight” after shaving (that can be either before applying an ASB or even after applying an ASB). I have dry skin and I attribute that tightness to the fact that my skin’s probably too dry after shaving. Although an ASB will help, it does not seem to be enough sometimes.

So what is the most moisturizing cream you have ever used ?

Truefitt & Hill usually works for me. I forgot to add it would be the Ultimate Comfort that would best suit you.

I would put Pre de Provence near the top in terms of moisture. Most of the french creams have oodles of shea butter that help with that.

For me the most moisturizing cream i have used to shave with is the body shop Maca Root. I love it, thick lather, nice and slippery and it doesn't dry my face out. I love the scent too, very modern.

You can add a little vaseline or nivea cream to any ASB, which will give excellent moisturization. Make sure you put on the creams while your skin is still moist to lock in the moisture.

I'd recommend spending about $5 on some unrefined Shea Butter from Whole Foods. Use a little bit on your face after shaving and you'll feel like you just shaved with Pre de' Provence shaving soap. It has a very faint scent. I've been doing that for the past couple of days and have been impressed.

To answer the original question though, I'd list the following as moisturizing:

- Body Shop Maca Root
- Any Penhaligon's cream
- SMN
- Art of Shaving creams

It seems creams with shea butter get the votes of a few people. Anybody has tried Institut Karite's cream ?

For T&H, I had a sample of Ultimate Comfort last week, and I agree with ChrisG that it is quite a nice, comfortable cream to shave with, leaving no real dryness.

If you want to get a better scented cream, look into the grafton. Not quite as good a lather as the ultimate comfort but a very very close lather and has a great scent to it.

That's too funny you're proposing that since Grafton is precisely the shaving cream sample I shaved with this morning, complimented by the Grafton ASB

I got the T&H colognes, creams, and ASB sample pack last week and I'm going through it. So far, the Ultimate Comfort is the nicest in terms of feeling, and the scent is fresh enough too. Grafton wasn't as moisturizing as Ultimate Comfort though.

My current favorite scent from T&H is 1805. Trafalgar was OK, but I expected more of it. Haven't tried yet West Indian Lime.

Now, it's too bad T&H doesn't do a Spanish Leather cream...This cologne is my favorite so far. Very masculine scent.

Haven't tried the 1805 but heard great things , only Grafton and Ultimate Comfortto speak from experience. The Indian Limes is ok,have smelled it not shaved with it and found the scent is a bit too sour for my taste.

I'm almost embarrassed to admit this...nivea!

You mean the canned foam ?

Don't be embarrassed, I used that Nivea foam when I was electric shaving (wet electric shaving). For canned goo, it sure won hands down on the Gillette stuff.

Still, I'll skip on this, been there, done that
