Most Beautiful Rock Wife - Nominations...

May lose a customer or two over this but what is going on is scolding. The intent is that having been scolded we would then self-censor. There have been threads that seem not to my liking and I just think to myself, "Eh, not worth my time." It would not occur to me to go to that thread and scold. Instead I am glad B&B is a place where we can share freely and the moderators continue to do a great job as they have over the past ten years we have been involved.
Yet there ye be, mildly scolding from the other direction.
With an albeit interesting detour or two, the photo of Shannon Tweed and others says this is basically a Hot Chicks thread, which was shut down for good reason.

Perhaps those offended by this thread's assault upon their sensibilities would feel better if they started a Most homely rock wife nominations thread.

I'd guess there will be few nominees who qualify. There might be a reason for that. :a47:

I wonder how many on this thread have actually (like me) been a rock musician and songwriter? There are plenty of musicians on the forum, so a few I would guess. I'm sure they can tell the difference between an inspirational/inspired woman and a "hot chick" as someone previously mentioned (not a term I'd use). Rock musicians are generally a pretty intelligent bunch and also get a lot of chances to meet women since they work in the evenings when people are socialising in large numbers. Someone who really gets through to you needs to stand out in a special way, and in my experience of fellow musicians that goes well beyond looks. Partners include lots of fellow musicians/singers and a good few artists and actresses who are good at what they do. Quite a few rock musicians went to art school, and some act.

So here's Joni Mitchell - wonderful, wonderful songwriter, an artist and married twice to rock musicians.

What's "good for" or "bad for" in terms of partners? When I was younger and a musician in Oslo I was totally infatuated by a local beauty. When she moved on after a few months I saw a psychiatrist for a while to try and put myself together again. But I wrote 30 songs that year - at times three in one day. I don't have the girl, but I still have the songs. So was that "good" for me or "bad" for me? I think marriage would have been a catastrophe, and I'm sure more than one rock musician walked back from the edge. Not to mention poets......... La Belle Dame Sans Merci anyone?

Good points. I guess I meant good for and bad for in terms of the quality of the individual's music output before and after. I might not have stayed consistent with that formulation though. Blake pretty much killed Amy Winehouse, but he also inspired "Back to Black." Patti Boyd was probably not good for Eric Clapton on some levels--who knows what caused all of his drug and alcohol abuses--but she did cause "Layla" to be created. I can certainly see the situation, as I mentioned before, of any artist becoming so filled with domesticated bliss that the artist loses all edge and desire when it comes to art.

I thought of Iman, too. Seal's wife Heidi Klum is certainly right up there among the most beautiful women. I sure overlooked her.

I thought of Gene Simmons' wife, Shannon Tweed, too, but somehow I think there ought to be points off being with Gene Simmons.

I sure did love Dusty Springfield. I like Diana Krall, but I do not think she has anything on Dusty.

This thread really has legs, even if it drifts a bit!

I recently read that Gene donated the KISS themed caskets that Dimebag Darrel and Vinnie Paul were buried in. I thought it was nice thing for him to do since the Abbott brothers were big KISS fans.
(Seriously, KISS caskets exist.)

I do not recall if we got Ronnie Spector on this list. Maybe she does not belong on a list of the "most beautiful". But if the list were hottest, she would have a place. A teenage dream . . .

I am sure Barbara Bach came up previously. She is lovely. Seems like they have had a good marriage. I do not think you would say about either one--"How could _______ ever had ended up with ________." Hard not to like Ringo.

Maureen Cox Starkey apparently had her charms, too. At least, George Harrison thought she did.
