More Than One Razor?

Anyone ever use more that one razor; per shave, that is? I always have several razors, blade ready on my BR sink. I'll start shaving with one, and then put it down and then pick up another one and then say, "I wonder how this one will work," and then pick up a 3rd one and finish the shave. I might end up using 3 or 4 different razors per shave, as a result, I never seem to know which one did the best job. Oh well, at least the experimenting continues on for a long while. BTW, each one of these razors will usually have a different blade in it to further complicate things. But, I sure do get a good shave in the end while still having lots of fun.

Too complicated for me. Not Zen enough.

I thought about the idea of two, but it really isn't necessary for me. I love using different razors, but only one per BBS shave.

Hi,

Gillette New Long Comb or Solingen Slant for pass 1. Gets me to DFS. Used to use a Red Tip as well, but not for a while now.

Gillette Tech for pass 2. Gets me to near-BBS and half the time to BBS with a little buffing of a couple spots.

Usually I stop right there.

Gillette Blue Tip for pass 3 if I have someplace special to go and want BBS for sure without much chance of a weeper.

I shave with the two passes every day. Once in a while I skip a day, and then opt for a Gillette Old Type OC for pass 1. The Old Type only gets used after at least one skipped day. Actually, I could use either the New LC or the Slant even with the extra growth, but the Old Type was my Grandfather's razor and this is the only time it gets used. :thumbup1:

I only use one razor at a time usually for quite a while i.e. 2 weeks at least and then switch to another if I feel like it. - or when something new is coming in the mail ... IKON Slant ahead:biggrin1:.

I have eight out at any one time, but only VERY rarely do I use more than one per shave (no matter how many passes). If I do, it is generally from a safety bar razor to an open comb. I have better luck on my neck with open comb razors.

Only one razor per shave. I have 19 razors (includes both DE & SE) but after using them in rotation I have found which I like and which I don't. It took a couple of shaves each to feel the differences in each.

That is one of the neat things abut this hobby. You choose your path, your style and enjoy what you make it.
I enjoy picking out out a razor that "speaks to me", drop a blade in it and usually use that combo till the blade is used up. Then choose another razor, etc.

I've got about one dozend loaded razors on the shelf in front of me and normally choose one razor per shave, in very rare oportunities I use two razors during one shave to compare them. It also happens that while shaving I feel that the blade doesn't do its job as it used to and simply grab another razor to continue. I never did and never will change in a razor while shaving!
