More shaves from a Feather

Hi,
I just started to understand the Feathers. I feel comfortable and safe. I obtain good shaves consistently.

Using Personnas or Bluebirds I can't shave more than twice without getting the blade dull because of my hard beard. Nevertheless, I shaved myself very well this morning for the fourth time with a Feather. It even seems that I will be able to squeeze it a bit more. It is not only a money matter, but performance.

Does it happen the same to you?

Concerns and advise, please.

Cheers from Spain.

Yes, this happens to me as well. I don't have a dense beard but I do have a tough beard. In the interest of not being wasteful, I used to use a blade for 4 to 5 shaves, with the last one or two shaves being rough. Now, I just discard after 3 shaves. Period. In addition, I must have the world toughest mustache as most blades have a tough time cutting through the hair, even when fresh. Only the Feather's and Bleue Extra blades were able reliable for 3 shaves, with the Blue Birds a close third.

Yes. Every other blade I toss after 3 shaves. With a Feather I easily get 4 and sometimes 5 shaves.

Funny, feathers only give me 2 good shaves and then they are toast. Still my favorite current production blade tho. Glad to see you can get more out of them.

I've noticed that there's a wide range of how many shaves people get from feathers. For some they last only 2 shaves, though others get 6 or 7 from them! I just had my first Feather shave this morning, and I have a medium beard, so I'm kind of expecting 4-5 shaves... hopefully.

I have a medium to thick grey beard, most blades I chuck after 2-3 shaves my record was 4 from an astra SP, today I'm going to have my 6th from a Feather , as they say YMMV.

I managed six or seven shaves with my last two Feather blades, but the replacement that I put in yesterday felt a bit blunt at the end of this morning's shave. This is the first time I've had that happen with a Feather. Simply wonderful blades.

G.K.

Feather might be more expensive than other blades, except Merkur, but you pay for quality.
That's what makes me always buying Feather blades.
There's nothing that i hate more than shaving whit a new blade that feels dull in the first shave(i could name a lot of brand, but i won't i would end up naming almost every blades available).

Even if a blade is more expensive, it's the cost per shave that cost cognitive individuals should focus on. Would you rather pay $0.30 for a blade and get 5 shaves or pay $0.15 for a blade and get 2 shaves?

I use Feather Professionals in a Cobra Classic razor. I have a light to medium beard, and typically get 10 -12 shaves per SINGLE EDGE blade!

I have the same problem, too. I don't think I have particularly tough beard, but after two shaves I can feel the jagged edges scratching my skin. The strangest thing is that the second shave has always been smoother than the first with Feather blade for me. Maybe I should strop it first?

I have never obtained better results from either stropping or corking. Oddly enough, the variable that most affects how long a Feather lasts me is which brand of shaving cream I use. Silly, but for me, true. I get my best results with . . . . . ARKO. Hard to believe.

I use Feather blades since 6 months now, and i don't know why , but i always tossed Feather blades after 2 shaves, thinking they were not good anymore.
But last week i decided to push them, to see if they can last at least a week without irritation and feeling dull.
And i had a good surprise, this morning it's shave number 5 whit the same Feather and the blade still feel sharp, so now i will save money and won't toss them after 2 shaves.

I have tried several different blades.I was telling my wife I didn't know why.
The feather are the best blade for me however I still ordered more different ones to try.

I have a very similar experience; first shave not so good (sometimes a nick or weeper); shaves 2-3, good; after that sharpness declines.

I have gotten 8 good shaves out of an Indian green Gillette 7 O'Clock.

I can get between 6-7 great shaves out of a Feather or Super Iridium. I normally will not push it pass that;figured I've got my money's worth @ that point.
