Monsavon?

I saw the tub in a couple of SOTD photos. I'm wondering if it is worth finding a tub when I go to Europe next summer. Looks cheap. There is no review for it. Going to search now!

EDIT: Oops! It's a soap?

Luc is right it is a fantastic soap. I look forward to it whenever it comes up in my rotation. I love the scent of Monsavon.

Its cheap, has tallow and performs better than some veggie soaps like C&E or even Trumpers.Give it a try if you are able to get one.

I guess I'm in the minority here. Can't stand the smell and would much rather use Tabac, which has the same price point (for those of us in the US). Also get better lather from Tabac.

A wonderful shop and can be had in French Hypermarkets for under €2, if you are going to France, stock up.

+1 on the above raves for Monsavon. Sorry it didn't work for you, Joe.

Tip: Take it out of it's original flimsy plastic tub and put it in a sturdier bowl. It's soft enough to be molded to fit just about anything and this will give your brush a better chance to load up with that tallowy goodness.

It's all good - glad it is going to someone that will use it. I got enough soaps that I love and can't get in my rotation anyway. Just one of those that lathers fine, but I can't get past the smell. I can understand why some don't like Tabac for the same reasons (I happen to really like the smell of Tabac). YMMV and all

The smell is something that reminds me of my grandma for some reason... But I still like it and the soap is a pretty decent performer. I'm not sure I really like it at US prices, but if you can get it at European prices it is definitely worth it.
