Mitchels wool fat

Im at work right now so i cant try this BUT is it possible to lather the fat using cold water, in prep for a cold water shave??

Yes, it works fine. Soak it in hot water first then pour it off and do your cold-water lather. Load your brush for longer than you feel necessary.

I have never soaked my MwF, always soak the Omega Boar I use though... wonderful stuff that soap, and I imagine the soaking will depend on how soft or hard your water is. Good luck and enjoy.

Same here.

Someone told me that you shouldn't use hot water, but a warm one: too high temperature may affect the lanolin.

Dont suppose you guys seen any video footage on lathering with cold water?

I wouldn't change anything from your routine for a cold water shave unless you don't get the desired results. Most of the threads I have read say it doesn't matter, however I am curious about the "hot" water affecting the lanolin. I would like to see some more info on that. Good shaves to you.
