Mitchell's Wool Fat Bath Soap?

I love the shave soap and I am wondering if the bath soap might be worth investigating. The water in my part of the world is quite hard, so I normally just use Dove Moisturising Soap under the shower.
Are there any users of MWF Bath Soap out there who would care to share an opinion?

My girlfriend has eczema and most soaps seem to really bother her skin. This is the only soap she uses now. And it gives me an excuse to order more shaving things when it comes time to replenish her supply.

I use it on my three babies. It does not dry their skin out like most other soaps. :thumbup1:

Pricey though. Sheesh. It is a great excuse to include something for Mom in the order. Not too foofie for Pops either. I like the scent a lot.

I just got a bar of the MWF bath soap recently. It has a mild scent, a bit like the shave soap but less sour. I like the smell of the bath soap more. The scent is, not surprisingly, very old fashioned and soapy. I have no complaints about the MWF bath soap except maybe the price, not too bad from Wingham Wool Works though. A nice addition to those days the fat comes up in the rotation.

Thanks guys for the thoughts. Sounds like I need to add some to the cart next time I go shopping!

Use it pretty much every morning. Leaves you squeeky clean! I like it very much. I use the one with the little girl in a bonnet on the wrapper. I think there are a couple different ones. "Country Scene" I believe it's called.

I'm planning on ordering a bar of it with my next MWF shave soap order.

Thing is, I'm used to using shower gel and a loofah at the moment. Foofie, I know, but I find the exfoliation to be excellent with a loofah. I haven't used an actual bar of soap in the shower in quite a long time.

Can somebody provide an ingredients list for this stuff, please?
Thanks!

Edit: Never Mind...

Ingredients: Sodium Tallowate, Sodium Palm Kemelate, Aqua, Parfum, Glycerin, Sodium Chloride, Lanolin, Cl77891, Tetrasodium EDTA, Tetrasodium Etidronate

I thought the bath soap was a bit powdery and not near the same scent than the shave soap... I was disappointed but it last ages!

Don't put away the loofah yet. I'm a bar soap convert and find that doing a once-over with the soap is all I need to get a crazy good lather with the loofah. Saves soap, too . I haven't tried MWF yet, though. Works fine with South of France soap!

Thanks for the response! So you lather yourself up with the bar of soap first, and then go over it with the wet loofah?

No worries. That's not exactly what I do, but it would certainly work if you aren't too concerned with how much you're using...I'm more the "if I spent $5 for this bar of soap, I'm gonna make it last" kinda guy. I just get the soap a little wet, run it around my torso and legs once (with my back to the water, and no discernable lather appearing), then get to work with the wet loofah. Produces awesome lather in no time at all. YMMV with other soaps, but South of France has at least kept me from the shower goo aisle for the foreseeable future.

I use bar soap with a loofah, too. Never going back to shower gels.

I just rub the loofah on the soap for about 20 seconds; provides enough lather for the shower and then some.:thumbup1:

I'm loving T&H bath soap. it's really nice.

Guys, I tried the loofah and bath soap combo today with my Mama Bear's celestial waters bath soap--and it made richer, sudsier lather than any shower gel I've ever used. I never even conceived of using a loofah with bath soap before. I just rubbed the loofah over the bar and it went to work, generating rich lather. Shower gel will soon be a thing of the past for me.

I can't wait for my MWF bath soap to come.

Yep. Sweet, isn't it?

Like I said in my previous post, I ain't never going back to a liquid showel gel.

ok ill bite. ive been reading a few threads on soap now, and not really sure how to use one :) ive always used shower gel, rubbed it into body with my hands, then rinsed. what is this thing called soap? :-D

i see my wife has a couple of those 'scrunchy' things hung up in bathroom, but theyve always seemed like voodoo to me. are they for using with soap? am i missing out on a great bathtime routine, much the same as ive only just discovered DE razor shaving? (at 50) :blushing:

how do you guys use a soap in the shower/bath? and is it nicer than plain old shower gel? ive always thought that the cheapest shower gels will do for face and hair, and its what you spray/splash/roll on afterwards that maketh the man.

happy to be enlightened in the ways of lathery goodness :)
