Mitchell’s Wool Fat Review

It is probably going too far to credit the scent to the "original 1893 formula". At http://mitchellswoolfatsoap.co.uk/info.html even the modern company only claims that "Mitchell's Wool Fat Soap was first produced in the early 1930's by Bradford chemist Fred Mitchell". He might have used a shave soap recipe from 1893, but I suspect the modern scent was either his own idea in the 1930s or came along even later. The scent is supposed to have a little patchouli in it, which was popular in the 1960s and 1970s, and the modern company dates from 1982. Coincidence?

Don't puncture my fantasies! :001_tongu But I still regard MWF as a timeless soap, even if the formula was tweaked as recently as 30 years ago.
