First-time use. Scrubbier and firmer than I usually prefer, but darn if this brush didn't lather like a champ without irritation. Now I'm not sure whether to sell it or keep it, but this time it was fun.
I was having the same question with another brush. One of our members advised to wait until I had 20 shaves on it before deciding. It was good advice. You could palm lather it every day you don’t use it. I really like mine although it won’t see much use since I‘ve contracted Chubby Fever.

My original plan was to test-lather it a lot to speed break-in, but then I thought I'd sell it so held off. Looks like I'll have to return to that plan. I assume that since it's only part-boar that I can lather it every day and don't have to do a complete wet-dry cycle.

I have the same thoughts. I love the backbone - perfect. I love the handle (cherry, and my absolute favorite handle), love the size. It's the perfect brush - except for the scrub. I've used mine over 20 times and I don't imagine it's going to get much better. It's quite frustrating to have the perfect brush in every way except that darn scritch. It does feel better when splayed.

I've moved mine along, which is a shame since it was a great brush in many ways, but my skin just wasn't having a good time. It unfortunately rules out the SOC finest version as well, probably 2-band altogether, and is another tell that I best stick to silvertip if I want to hang with badger. I guess I can't tolerate things these days I used to be able to.
