@TBoner did one of these back in 2021. I don't want to steal his thunder, but I love my mixed brushes and wanted to revive this tradition.

So any and all fans of mixed knots can please join in. As with other monthly themes you don't need to use mixed brushes exclusively all month to participate.

Kicking things off with the SOC Butterscotch

Torga C3 Mistura this morning made quick, thick, slick work of lathering Proraso cream.

I will have to dig out the SOC Mistura that I let fall out of rotation so I can really maximize May.

That's a gorgeous handle. What type of wood is it?

Cherry or so I've been told. Years ago I applied some linseed oil to help preserve it, it seemed a little dry.
It's the smallest of my mistura brushes, I have a few and will be breaking them out for this thread.
My favorite is possibly my 2011 Caravela!

Mistura May Madness


Hello friends,

I've always shaved in the morning, but lately I'm starting to enjoy an evening shave.
Today, I resorted to the MWF, lathered extremely well by the Semogue SOC Mistura. My new best friend Green Cult 2.0 (baseplate II) with Perma-Sharp (5) gave me a deep yet smooth shave. I finished with Lilac Vegetal, the King of Cat Pee.

What a shave, friends!

Don’t forget a 23 year old McCoy Tyner on Piano. You may not know this but Lush Life was a last minute add because they heard it on the car radio on the drive to the studio. But the most incredible thing is that there were no charts and the entire album was done in one take. Definitely my desert island album.

The Mistura was in its element face lathering with this soap. I accidentally made way too much lather! Nice, close shave with the German 37 + Nacet combo.

Today was a Caswell-Massey mixed brush. I'm fairly certain it was made by Vulfix. I treat this brush like a synthetic, no soak, just wet it then load and lather vigorously. Not a lot of backbone, but it holds and distributes lather very well.

This Mistura is definitely one of my favorite brushes.

The resin handle of the Semogue Mistura is really nice. The cherry SOC is also very nice, but lighter.
