Missing the way photography was before digital

I started taking photos in the1960,s, Zenith russian camera, then Pentax, screw lens mount. Somehow photography was more interesting then as regards equipment. A few main camera makers but each with distinctive cameras.
Then there was the annual Photographers Year Book each pic with a description of the camera, lens used, focal length etc. Great inspiration..

I started in 1968 with a Miranda Sensorex. The gear part never was important to me. I was only interested in how it would help me capture that image in my head. Film was a deterrent to quickly obtaining what I wanted. Do I miss it. Not one bit.
