With a modern SE:

The shave was great. Reminded me a lot of the Ever-Ready Streamline model. BBS with no iritation. I used a Pella and will probably not use the original blades. They are too nice.

I forgot to take a photo of the stroppinh/honing handle, and now I'm too lazy to take out the cam and upload the pics. Maybe later.

Now that's the finest advice thus far.......

Very nice score, I'd date your piece to the very late 1800's to the turn of the century. It looks to be in great shape just make sure you put a good edge on the blades before you give it a go. It will offer a fine shave.

I'll use a Star razor blade (they are the same size) and today I used a pella SE (modern SE blades fit perfectly)
