Wow, that is a good score. Just PM me before the extra's hit the BST so I can get in early! I'd like to check out a government auction some day. I bet that US Government has 1 million DE razors in a warehouse somewhere they don't even know about. Aw, don't get me started on govt waste.

May I be so bold as to ask what your winning bid was on these beautiful razors?

Sure....not a great price. Probably could have done as well on BST.
I think people are clamouring to scoop them up in hopes to make some quick cash turning them around on ebay.
Paid just under $200 for the lot of 10, and almost $150 for the lot of 5, so ~$20 and ~$30 a piece, respectively.

Congratulations on the razors! You should be set for awhile!

Only keeping one of each for myself. The rest are already spoken for, amongst friends.

There's more where they came from. I could probably get more, but I doubt there'll be a line up at my door at that price, even if they are NIB.

Well done. I've won a few here and there from an auction site now and then. Doesn't happen often but it sure is fun when one sneeks through. Congrats.

Nice! I got a set of ten too!

I'm giving one away as a PIF in the General Shaving section. I going to keep one or two for myself and not sure what I'm going to do with the rest. I certainly don't want to do eBay.

You pick them up at the depot, send your own shipper, or they will pack and ship at your cost (probably not cheap)
Picked mine up this morning. The 1966s on the cards were a little shabby. 45 years is hard on cardboard, tumbling around in a box.
They don't smell damp or anything, but the corners of many are dog-eared, and the glue holding the plastic to the card is loose.
The guy put a box of about 50 on the counter and told me to pick 10.
They were surplus DND issue.
The British "1950s" ones were all minty. I just grabbed the first 5.

The two razors are pretty much identical except the packaging and included blades. Neither appear to be aluminum handled, but rather plated brass. Quite heavy.
I'll open a couple and disassemble for finer inspection this evening.

They also have some other "kits" dated 1951, that were probably officer issue. None up for auction at the moment, but the fellow there said they have hundreds and they'd probably go up closer to christmas when they may get more for them, being intended as gifts. All in mint condition except he said the mirror in the lid is loose in just about all of them:

Several lots of ancient NOS Blades as well.

keating you're lucky to live close to be able to pick them up...I had my eye on a kit but was worried about how I would pick it up and figured if they did offer shipping...as you say..not cheap.
Congrats again!!
