That seems to be the trick for me. I've found if I use my Tech, Merkur 34c or Hoffritz slant I get a great shave with a Feather, Astra or Gillette silver blue. If I use my Old Type or New Deluxe I get an equally great shave using a Personna blue or Crystal blade. If I use the more aggressive blades in the Old Type or New Deluxe I get a close shave at the cost of having several weepers in the process.
Mild razor+aggressive blade and aggressive razor+mild blade.

Many people share your experience, but in shaving there are few absolutes for everyone.
That's a good rule of thumb. Enjoy your shaves! 
Call me wierd but I have the opposite experience. I must use a sharp blade in my aggressive razors or it is very tugggy and uncomfortable. Almost like their biting off more than they can chew.
However in a.mild razor like my 34HD or Fendrihan mk2 I can use any blade without tugging. More passes required however
