microfaster nuts/bolts for temporary mock up

Hi,
In need to know what to get for temporary mock up when making or adjusting scales. Do they have a (1/16" DIA thread) hex head machine screw? Do you recommend brass or steel? Part #'s please? Don't know what to buy??

McMaster's Carr I think carries them in a size 0 nut, 1/16th bolts. size 0 washers too

There’s a vendor on eBay that sells pins, pivot washers, pin washers, and they come with the micro fastener.

I use the #0 nuts & bolts and 0 washers for all scaling, fitting. I just bought a butt load to offset the shipping cost from Microfasteners. Be sure to also order the #0 nut driver to tighten the nuts. The #0 brass washers have a smaller OD and I use them for all pinning, except big choppers. Hope this helps.

Thanks! So those are 1/16 diameter threads on the screws? If you Dont care give me the links for brass hex head nuts, bolts, and the little socket. Also i need the link to 1/16" stainless washers, wide and the narrow. Please? They are just some many parts on their site, and Im not sure exactly what to get, based on the descriptions or part nunbers. I would hate to buy blindly, and get the wrong items .I tried contacting microfasters via email, just to get an idea what to buy for my needs, but no response. I really Dont need the nuts and bolts yet, but I might as well get them for future projects.

For razors, I use brass only. The stainless fasteners I have are used for other projects.

Making sure it all fits together well, blade not hitting the scales, etc. before actually peening it together. Might be making a wedge, and/or sanding the scales to shape.

Microfasteners had told me that they call these things machine screws, but I no longer see them in 1/16 inch diameter on their website, so I sent them an email.

Does anyone know if they still sell these and, if not, where else I can buy them?

Kathy from Microfasteners got back to me. The above model numbers are right, but the above links seem to be dead. Microfasteners calls these things machine screws, and size 0-80 machine screws are 0.06 inch in diameter which is just under 1/16 (or 0.0625) inch. Turns out stainless machines screws are significantly less expensive than brass. Because I will only be using these to temporarily hold things together, I plan to buy the machine screws and nuts in stainless - I already have stainless flat washers.

They are the best mockup bolts I have found. They are easier and faster to do a mockup than micro fasteners.

Even with the tiny threads I have not cross threaded them. Very well made!
