What's new

Messing around in Photoshop/SketchUp.

I need to create models for the barbershop I'm doing this year, so I decided to get started with some basic stuff. I made these brushes in about 5 minutes, and then spent another 5 minutes messing about in Photoshop.

And, just as an open invitation - if anyone has modeled shaving stuff for their own personal use (razors, brushes, scuttles, etc), and wouldn't mind sharing, I'd love to use some of it for my project. You would be given credit, of course.

The more I look at these, the more the top part of the handle begins to annoy me. I've never seen a shaving brush shaped like that. I think I'm going to revise these.

I have an Intro to Sculpture class tomorrow where I think we may learn about mold making and other things of that nature. I hope I can learn the skills to make my own shave soap bowls, scales for straight razors, and other various shaving items.

I have a feeling I should have gone into Industrial Design instead of Animation, because I love making things.

Wow. I never thought I'd see Sketchup mentioned on B&B!

I'm a SketchUp fiend. I've been using it just about since it was first introduced. Hey, I never got to personally thank you for the German travel kit. So, thank you. It's beautiful. It barely even looks antique. I appreciated the bonus blades as well.

Let me know if you're interested and I'll post up some SketchUp interior work that I've done for school. I have lots and lots.

David, glad to hear you liked it. I'm glad that it landed in your hands. Thank you for your interest in it. And happy belated birthday!

I am interested in your sketchup work. Are you currently in school? Is this for a degree in design? Or is it a side interest? I work for an architecture firm that uses Sketchup quite a bit to study design options, though I must admit that I'm not nearly as facile with it as I'd like to be.

I'm two semesters away from graduating with my Bachelor's degree in interior design. If I may humbly say so, I'm nearly a master SketchUp user. I base this statement on the fact that I've never been unable to completely model something I wished to model. As you may know, though, Revit is the future of architecture and design. I'm learning it now, but I know 1/10th of what I'd need to know to call myself proficient. Hold on and I'll stick some drawings up here.

if you ever have any questions about photoshop hit me up. I've been using it for about 9 years now, 6 years professionally.

I appreciate that! I've taken an Adobe Creative Suite class, but I've forgotten most of what I've learned.

Also, I can't find the flash drive with my interior design work on it, so here are those brushes again with a DE that I designed the other day. I'm going to upload them to the 3D Warehouse, I think.

Hey MementoMori, I saw your photoshop work and that you were a student in Interior design. I do some work for Adobe, and was wondering if you've done any work with CS5, or any other Creative Suite programs?
