Two years ago I found my late grandfather's shaving equipment stored in one of my grandmother's cabinets. I asked her if I could have it and luckily I could.
After some trial and error I have now been shaving the past 2 years with my grandfather's Gillette Techs. Recently I have bought a Parker 12R which I find really aggressive compared with to the Gillette Tech.
Now it is time to move on and try one of the new chaps: the Merkur Vision. The only thing is: which one to get? Chrome or Satin finished one?
I do want to buy a quality razor, but like to handle it for years to come. My only concerns are, except for the fact that I like the look of the chrome one better that I wonder what the difference is in terms of quality.
- Will the chrome or satin layer last better for times to come or is it a layer that comes of/scratches easily?
- Which finish has the best anti-residue-layer? I hate the white residue on my equipment...
- Does the chrome one really stick to your skin?
Or am I just worrying too much and should I just buy the darn thing?
Let me know peeps!
