I think with a fresh Feather blade (what I use in my Progress), it doesn't matter what kind of beard you have.

"Start at 1" is good advice. So is "no pressure".

I just finished using the Progress 8-9 times over 14 days, with the same Personna Red blade in it for 7 of them. A most excellent shave each time, varying from setting 4.5 down to 3.5 and with 24-, and 36-hour beards, and once a 60-hour beard.
