Merkur HD - different knurling, or am I crazy?

Ok, take a look at these pictures and decide for yourself. Today I noticed a post in the B/S/T and did a double take. Does the knurling on this Merkur HD look different than on other razors? Is Merkur maybe changing the design slightly? Do I need a CAT scan?

You're not crazy. I recently purchases a new HD and I thought the knurling slightly different than my other HD.

Looks a tad finer. There has been talk of Merkur doing some retooling, perhaps this is the beginning.

Doesn't look like fish scales/ chain-mail anymore.

Looks like the diamond are more square, so there's not as much angle to the knurls.

Once Merkur works out all the kinks in getting all the parts of the razor looking good, they will have a fantastic razor. Also they need to address the threaded post separating from the top cap. Some people report that the cap pops off the threaded post while tightening it down after replacing the blad.

My HD's and my Slant have different grip and they are both great so I think you should try them both, the 'new' and the 'old'.
