Merkur Classic HD? Seems to be more than 1

Hi All,

First post. Great site. I read the beginning of the sticky comparing DE razors. The Merkur Classic HD looks good, so I googled it and am finding several "classics." Is there one that is more preferred?

Technically I believe the Merkur Classic is a traditional three piece design, with a handle that screws off and a separate head piece and baseplate. The HD is a two piece design. I wholeheartedly recommend the HD (34C). It's a terrific little razor.

Thanks guys. I guess I'll take the plunge. Was considering Feather blades, but not sure I could control the combo.

I have both 1904/1906 and the HD. The HD is a nicer looking razor...but the 1904 is less expensive and shaves great! Plus I believe they share the same head.
