Merkur 37G and 37C slant same razor?

I received my gold plated-Merkur HD 37G slant for Christmas. Shaved with it this morning and love it! Best shave so far!! I wish I would've tried the slant sooner

My question to all knowledgeable members out there.

Is there a difference between the Merkur 37G and 37C? I am trying to search and look everywhere but I have a hard time finding any threads explaning.

Mine said HD on the description but on the merkur box it had a small sticker that said 37G on the top of the box, so I assume that is what it is.

I know there is a 39C out there also, but I know this is not it.

Any insight much appreciated!!

They are the same, except for the finish. G stands for Gold, and C stands for Chrome.

Like mmack66 said, the only difference is in the plating. Which is really gold for the G btw, not just a gold-like colour.

I'm glad I sprang for the extra few bucks and got the gold slant. It looks great, and has help up very well over the years.

I have a Merkur Futur, a chrome 38C, a chrome 61 Fatboy and a Muhle that is also chrome, so I had to go with the gold Merkur this time for variety...
