Merkur 34g Brass?

Hello All,

I'm just wondering... The gold plated version of the Merkur 34C is the 34G. Is this a brass base metal handle and head? I didn't think zinc alloy could be electroplated with gold- however thin the plating. Would be awesome if it was brass!

The handle and thread are brass. The rest is zamak. The way Merkur uses a combo of Zamak and Brass makes me not worry about their longevity...as long as you keep it relatively clean.

Thanks for the info. Nice looking razor. Are their other razor handles (such as the 23C) typically brass?
