I’ve yet to use this , but recently I’ve been trying Merkur razors and Muhle r89 specifically after using bigger prices razors that seem to be all the craze, and they hold their own so well that I feel like a fool after spending my cash if it helps you at all.

The 12C will be similar to the 25C so look at views on that model. This may help; How are the Merkur open comb razors(1904, 15C, 25C)?
If you are looking for an open comb you may wish to look at a Fatip, all brass construction; Grande or Piccolo depending on your choice of handle.
