Merkur 11c and 12c discontinued

I think I remember reading somewhere that the machines that make the open comb were damaged or broke down, and they are not going to repair or replace. I figure there are plenty of them out there, if I want one I will find it. But I don't mind the used market. I really like true vintage open combs, like my old type.

For those that want the same head, the 41c is available from most vendors and is a great shaver. I prefer the 41c over the 11c as the 41 is a three piece, so no problem trying different handles with it.... Pick up a inexpensive SABI razor and you now have a beast!
Geofatboy has some good prices at Shavenation. He is very nice too.

I'm quite fond of my 11C. The Superior Shave still has a few I believe!

It pleases me to say that neither of these razors holds any interest for me.

+1 1904 (41C) is a fantastic little razor!
The 1904 OC is a very nice razor, but I've tried my HD OC, the 11C, after not using it for quite some time. I've now decided that the 11C is my go to OC. I like the thinner head, and the heavier feel of the 11C over the 1904.
I just ordered an 11c from Straight Razor Designs. Open combs have really grown on me lately.
I just checked their web site and it says "Out of stock". You must have gotten the last one!
I love my 11c. A mild OC razor. Goes great with a Shark blade IMO!
I had an 11C years ago and sold it. When I found out it was discontinued forever I decided I had to have one again, funny how that works.
