Men-U boar vs Omega

I have a Men-U boar brush, but would like to get a high-end Omega boar. I'm hoping that the Omega brush will be denser, because I'm finding Men-U a bit on the thin side, especially in the centre of the brush. Is it correct that the Omega brushes are in general more densely packed than the Men-U brush?

I certainly wouldn't describe my Menu as thin anywhere. I wouldn't really want it much denser to be honest. I too have been thinking of an Omega, but I thought there was more or less a consensus that the two were pretty much similar quality so I haven't got round to it. Of course the handle on the Menu's not great and some of the Omegas are quite classy. Anyone else dis-satisfied with their Menu?

All boar brushes seem to "hollow out" in the middle when lathering, and it's not a matter of how sparse or dense the bristles are. It's just the nature of a boar brush. I love my Omega boar in spite of it.

I've never used a Men-U, but by your description it sounds like it's doing the same thing my Omega does every day, so I'm not sure buying an Omega would solve your problem.

On the other hand, you should buy an Omega just because.:w00t:

So is the consensus (among those who have used both) that the higher-end Omega boars are more or less the same (excluding handles) as the Men-U boar brush?
If I can't find a denser boar brush, then I would at least be happy if I found an Omega with a slightly bigger knot size than that of the Men-U. On the other hand, I think that the Omega Professional series is too big for me.
