About a week ago we purchased a new hybrid memory foam mattress. The off gassing is so strong we have decided to let it air out as much as possible. We removed all the sheets from the bed, sprinkled baking soda on the mattress and turned the fan on high. It is a little better but still around. Just curious if anyone else had this issue and what they did to correct it.

The main reason I went with 100% organic latex 17 years ago...."Memory Foam " is loaded with benzene, styrene and even formaldehyde..The odor may subside somewhat over the years , but the toxic outgassing will last many more years. https://savvyrest.com/info/does-memory-foam-contain-toxic-chemicals
It fades fairly quickly.
I went with a latex mattress as well, though there are days I miss my temperature controlled waterbed.

About a week or so in the garage and the smell was mostly gone.
I was going to say, 1st 2 weeks were pretty terrible, but after the first month I didn't notice anything.
