What's new

Meet the Da Vanci's , Heads up, Picture Heavy :o)

Well i finally got around to it, and after having the Da Vinci "293" For about a Year, I Decided to Order the Davince "295" "Travel Edition" Also Ordered the Globe Style Handle Style Da Vinci "290"

The Hair on this Brush is suppose to be Hand-bound 100% pure silver tip badger hair. I have had the 293 for a while and Honestly it is one of the best if not the Best Brush i Own. I have about 12 ShaveMac Brushe's, Yes i am a big Fan of ShaveMac Brushes ) But the Da Vinci is in a Different League of its own, the Tips are Soft with Just the Right amount of Backbone to it, I can through Creams at it, Soaps, Shave Stick's Dont matter the 293 Tears it up and Whips a nice Lather, Weather Face Lathering, Bowl, or Palm. So Why not get the Rest of the Da Vanci as Cheap as they are Compared to other Brushes, Da Vinci's are the Best for you Money and the Silver Tip Badger Quality is Sensational. After all Da Vinci Makes Professional Make up brushes That are high end and Command High Buck's , So its not Surprising to me that Da Vanci Is Making Such Outstanding Shaving Brushes and Both the 293,290 Have the best Ergonomic Handles Ever on any Brush i have Placed my hands on. They are Amazing and Worth Every Penny.

Here are some Pic's So you can Compare the Longer 293 to the Globe Handle, The Globe handle is Shorter but bigger then the 293 and these Close up pics will make it easy for you to compare, also you will see the difference in Knot sizes. The 293 is about 23-24MM. And the 290 is about 25-26 MM and the Travel Davinci Looks like a 21-22MM Knot Same Quality Hair as the 290 and 293 .

Enjoy the Pics )

I never did break down and get the travel brush.

the 290 and 293 are well into the top tier of brushes I have owned.

They are made from Turkish Badger hair not Chinese so there IS a difference in how they feel and perform when compared to other modern brushes

So how do they perform/feel compared to the chinese badger? Pics of lathering with them please/ :) Where to buy?
They are Great Performer's , They Feel Really Soft on the Face, With Minimal Scritch to them But the Exfoliate like a Champ, Compared to Chinese Badger, Well I like this badger hair, just Really Feels high Quality , Some Chinese Badger Hairs can be a little Rough on the face, but depends on the Quality of course. You can Purchase one here ) http://www.promakeupbrush.com/shaving.html Just Check out the other Positive Reviews. One purchase I will not Regret )

Both the 290 and 293 are long/tall loft brushes but they have enough backbone to face lather as well as my Duke 2. Both can whip up lather in a bowl with little to no effort and release it just as well as my Kent BK8 does.

Here are my reviews of them from last year.

When I got mine there was only one US distributor.

The daVinci brushes are very handsome. I'm surprised that Ervargasny and Turtle describe brushes with such high lofts as firm and a good choice for face lathering, even comparing them favorably to a Duke 2. It almost sounds like they are describing a 3 band High Mountain White . . .

One of the little features of the travel brush is that you can slide up the inner sleeve (meant to squeeze the knot so it slides in to the tube) to adjust the loft slightly. The brush handles hard soaps as well as creams.

Has anyone seen the daVinci Series 297 from their most recent catalog? IMHO, the wood (wood-grain?) handle looks even better than the black plexiglass.
