AP Handcrafted. Cashmere, 24 mm.
Thanks for setting these boundaries. Personally, a lot of this is subjective. Here we go:
Tiny: < or = 17mm.
Small: 18-22mm
Medium: 23-27mm.
Large: 28mm and up.
Agreed! That is close to jumbo sized. You can all throw stones at me if you want, but 27mm is not a medium diameter brush for me.
You're welcome! I agree it's totally subjective. The ratings came to my attention when I posted a photo of a brush that exceeded the parameters of the Tiny Brush forum. Using those boundaries I started both the Small and Medium user threads. I've been experimenting with brushes and the only Small brush I'm actively using is the Simpson Berkeley. That one comes in at 19mm. I did purchase the Simpson Classic I Synth (21mm) but have gifted that one to my youngest son. For now I'm really enjoying alternating between my two SOC's.Thanks for setting these boundaries. Personally, a lot of this is subjective.
Having used 21mm and under brushes almost exclusively (Semogue 610, Muhle Black Fibre, Muhle STF 'Small'), anything over that general size feels HUGE. My 22.5mm Mondial silvertip feels larger than my 24mm SOC Mistura when lathering on the face---it's so big I am thinking of selling it. Splay affects these things too.
Even my Jack Black x Muhle STF feels huge---and it's only 21mm.
By the way, Mondial lists their 22.5mm brush as 'LARGE.' Perhaps different manufacturers have different standards.
