What's new

May 24th and it's snowing

I should have a sunburn by now but no . . . I'm driving to work in the snow in Salt Lake City proper . . . not in the Mountains but in the Valley!!!

This is not a little bit of snow or just a few flakes, it's actually starting to stick on the lawns :001_huh:

When I first saw this post, I thought "oh, he must be in Canada" We are almost guaranteed to get snow on the May Long Weekend!

Surprised to see Salt Lake as your location!

bummer.

here in Britain I'm basking in unseasonally hot 28C! Not forecast to last though so better make the most of it.

It's 3 deg C here in beautiful Newfoundland, and the name of the movie stands true for the weather:

"Rain, Drizzle & Fog"

Yes, there is actually a documentary about this part of the world carrying that name. Here's a snippet from one reviewers comments:

St. John's, one of the most vibrant, idiosyncratic, intellectually rich and, alas, meteorologically challenged cities in all of North America.

We've just had the hottest weekend of the year...was hitting 30c...with chance of snow showers forecast for end of this week!

I will take your snow. I am not a fan of hot weather and over the course of the spring it has remained in the 55-60F degree range. Then on Saturday the weather pulled a typical Kansas stunt. It jumped to nearly 90F in one day. Humidity reminded me of a Louisiana bayou. Lord I hate the summer humidity. But that's Kansas for you. Don't like the weather? Wait about fifteen minutes. It will change. BTW, 30C in Scotland? That does sound a bit warm for the region. Particularly at this time of year. I wish it only got that hot here in the States. I always dread July and August.

Regards, Todd

I went to college in upstate NY. My junior year, I was trying to decide if I would graduate early which meant attending classes over the summer. On May 16, it was a beautiful 55 degree day, and it started to snow. We got 12 inches in the next 18 hours. Needless to say, I decided to graduate early to avoid more of the same. :001_rolle

When I woke up this morning I can honestly say I kind of got mad. I'm looking forward to when I can graduate from school and move somewhere with 4 seasons.

This Victoria Day weekend started off rainy on Saturday but yesterday and today have been sunny and in the low to mid 20s celcius here in Greater Toronto.

I was going to go running yesterday morning, until I woke up and saw the snow. With the tendency of Utah weather to shift so rapidly maybe I should just get a treadmill.
