You should try it, it works really well.

What a pleasure to end the work week with this razor / blade combo. Super efficient for me, the 3rd pass was really keeping to routine within the process.

  • Adam Grooming's Pure Badger
  • Mühle R41
  • Nacet (6)
  • Kiehl's Blue Astringent

These 8 $ will be well spend!

Danke !

I'm out. I succumbed to buying more brushes from Simpsons, to complete my set of polo brushes. It's been a pretty decent stretch in restraint since last year, but alas no more.

SOTD
TI 6/8 le Grelot
Simpsons Chubby 2 2-band
SV Felce Aromatica soap and aftershave

Stay strong everyone else !

You can still make it a good run by going 30/31 in May. If this is your only unnecessary purchase since 2021 than your restraint is impressive. Enjoy your complete set of polo brushes and we shall hopefully see you in June.

As HMH says, you can still go 30/31 and we'll hope to see you for June. Please be sure to post pics of the new acquisition and the full line-up of Polo brushes!

R41/SLOC - like where is the other razor then? Did he do a second pass of some sorts? But then I saw the second picture you posted. W O W! Amazing design. Other handle works better as well. Hmm. Just when I thought I had taken the R41 off my list…local shop has that cap available for indeed somewhere around €8.

Cheers,

Guido

Thank you very much for clearing this for me, I do have the Wizamet blade then. It is certainly a more crisp shaving blade than anything I've tried. I'll see if it is worth considering procuring or if I'm better off with my locally available (but short life span) blades.

@JAHE Mighty congratulations on Wolfman, it is a piece of art and fits nicely in your gorgeous SOTD posts:c18:

It is a Saturday and I have the weekend off from work, I am therefore shaving with my Vintage weekend set. Today, oddly enough, I am shaving with the SR with "Saturday" on the spine. This was one of those shaves in which everything came together beautifully, the lather was near perfect, the blade still almost DE sharp and the results are bbs. It is shaves like this that remind me of why I love this hobby.

Hang in there Shave-gents.

Fighting an urge, but still in.

Great edge, great soap and no complaining noses around so Pinaud Classic gets the nod. Love it when a plan comes together.

We are gentleman of gently restraint!
Still in, still strong, but I'm checking new razors more often lately 😁

Perfect shave today:

Brush: Semogue 1250
Razor: Rockwell 6C (R5)
Blade: Wilkinson Sword (5)
Preshave: glycerin soap with calendula
Soap: Fine L'Orange Noir
Aftershave: Pitralon Pure + Proraso Blue balm

But I can totally relate! My search history contains the words vintage and soap much more than normal these last few days!

And following my chat with @thombrogan I have been eyeing Semogue horse brushes as well 😉😁. But he managed to set me straight again 👍🏻.

Two thirds!

Cheers,

Guido
