Matching blade packs to razors

I've got several blade packs that I assume are for certain razors, then as I'm cleaning them out (I like to remove the old blades from the back and safely discard them) I discover that the Gillette blades have letters and numbers on them that I assume are date codes.

So, wouldn't it be nice to have a G2 Fat Boy with G2 Blue Blades.

Does this really matter? Am I over thinking this?

I think it would be pretty cool for display razors. User grade razors-not so much. Then again, tracking this kind of stuff down and then actually buying it when we do find it is the fun and entertaining part of the hobby, isn't it?:001_smile

Finding Blue blades in the wild is kind of difficult.
It makes the task interesting that's for sure.

Underthinking it actually, a G-2 should have come with Super Blue Blades :001_smile.

Ya know, that's the one where I found the date code. Before that I had a pack of Blue blades with a Y date code in my G Fat Boy.

Many thanks to the mr-razor site for the pictures.

Yes Achim's site is the Word .. I do try & get the correct type (Cream Color, Blue, Super Blue, SS, etc) blade cases in with the razors, but haven't graduated to the date code matching .. yet.
