Their current puck performs well alsoFloris No. 89 shave cream
Oddly enough I just ordered the refill puck after looking at their websiteTheir current puck performs well also
When I get it in I'll post the ingredients and a report on how it performs.let us know how it performs ... was it reformulated?
my puck from 5 years ago lathered thin and pitiful.
I've had that puck and it became one of my all time favorites.let us know how it performs ... was it reformulated?

I believe it's only Apsley that has been reformulated (happened a couple of years ago). T&H Apsley, Floris and Arran all use the following base ingredients:
Potassium Palmate, Potassium Palm Kernelate, Potassium Stearate, Sodium Palmate, Glycerin, Aqua (Water), Sodium Palm Kernelate, Sodium Stearate, Palm Kernel Acid, Parfum (Fragrance), Sodium Chloride, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Pentasodium Pentetate, Tetrasodium Etidronate, Panthenol, Limonene, Hydroxycitronellal, Citronellol, Hexyl Cinnamal, Linalool.
Thank you fo the insights.Reformulated around 2018 with a base that is indeed shared with T&H Apsley.
Note that many of the British triple-milled have reformulated again around 2024 in line with the EU's outright ban on Pentesodium Pentetate - that's T&H & TOBS from the London Cartel but also Edwin Jagger, Scottish Fine Soaps and Captain Fawcett that I've spotted so far ... so it's reasonable to assume that Floris will also unveil a new formulation in due course as stocks run through.
It is worth saying that the change is for the better even with their existing formulations being perfectly good. Yes, there was a Dark Age for the British triple-middle from around 2011/2013 through to 2016/2018 depending upon the bloodline - Standard Company or Broad Oak.
So, yes, so long as you're okay with Shea Butter as an ingredient (some folks balk at this) then the Floris soap will be a perfect addition to your repertoire and naturally a perfect partner for the EDT ... and aftershave if you get that.
Those working on the formulations clearly are not wet shavers and do not know how a good soap should act. No way on earth they test them side by side and then say “oh yeah, ours is better”, no way.but these soaps were reformulated by corporate people who do not use them or test them
poor dog, that's love! They perform so poorly that I washed my dog with the last puck.
You are correct of the previous formulation.I agree that the scent is fantastic and one of my favorites.
However, these soaps are in the bottom of any list in performance. They perform so poorly that I washed my dog with the last puck.
Often, we say the YMMV, but these soaps were reformulated by corporate people who do not use them or test them.
I wish that I was wrong. Someone please prove me wrong.

I can attest the current Potassium Forward Floris and TH Apsley are superb.
To be fair, I’ve had the non-reformulated TH Sandalwood for some time - it’s always worked well for me.
When you say “Protection” are you referring to density of the lather ?I do love the English brands, but simply want them to perform. In my defense, I used the tallow version of Floris exclusively for five years when I first started using a brush in 1995. I am not expecting that glorious tallow protection, but ... the current versions leave too much irritation to go to the office these days.

Slickness is my only mode of protection with a Straight…
I get you though, each of us have our own tolerances for our skin. That it is Not a One Size fit all makes it that much more enjoyable - Cheers
Humbug! However, these soaps are in the bottom of any list in performance. They perform so poorly that I washed my dog with the last puck
