I read a member here said this stuff doesn't have the cat pee in it like the Pinaud version. Any users here care to offer opinions? Thinking of trying and I want to like it...

It is lilac and very floral but not the strong French lilac that the Pinaud aftershave has.

Your grandson has good taste! My 9 year old son uses the Pinaud Clubman hair gel every day, too. He leans more towards Clubman Musk for his aftershave, though. Not that he actually shaves, but you get the idea. His little brother, who will be 4 next month, also uses the hair gel but prefers Clubman original as his go-to scent. He says it makes him "smell like a man". Oh, and the Master Lilac Vegetal is excellent stuff! Most definitely, grab a bottle. I love it straight, or even mixed with some of the Pinaud LV. By the way, there is a place in San Francisco that carries Master products, and I stopped in there today and picked up the Master Bay Rum, Musk, Lord & Master and Spice. So far, I think the Lord & Master is the best of that bunch. Similar to Clubman, but different enough to be worth the $ and them some. They were supposed to have the Master Blue, which I LOVE, but they ordered Iceland Breeze by mistake instead. Honestly, it didn't smell all that bad, but after all the bad reviews I didn't want to push my luck and get it. Maybe next time.

, I would venture to say that you will like it too!
It's, um, an unusual scent, but it can grow on you. Nice cool blast for the warm weather, too.

Lilac Vegetol is a straight up lilac scent. Sweeter smelling than Lilac Vegetal, and not nearly as complex. I prefer Pinaud's.

All this talk of Master Lilac Vegetal made me pull it down for use today
The masters is a Lilac scent, but it's more floral, like the Boosters brand. I'm not sure why they threw in the vegetol part.
It seems more "sweet" to me than the Veg or even Boosters, which I also own and use (but not as often as the Veg).
