Marlborough - DR Harris vs GFT

I cannot comment on the Harris because I haven't tried it. However, GFT has rapidly become a favorite. I got a sample straw with a pack of freebies from Trumper's, liked it, so I ended up purchasing a bottle.

I tend to steer clear of questions like this as there is no objective way to compare scents, especially given nebulous terms such as "manly". You will, of course, receive opinions galore here, but the only way to effectively judge scents is to egt samples and try them. I can tell you that both of these scents are fairly inexpensive compared to the more esoteric niche products. I'd have to say, though, that I haven't noticed much discussion about Marlborough, whatever that implies.

I have both. They are mainly similar in name, but they both do seem to have some cedar and sandalwood to them.

To me, the Harris Marlborough is much dryer, cedar/sandalwood (lots of cedar) fragrance (more pronounced than the soap) while the Trumper has some of that and more floral notes (lavender & geranium) to it. I am really liking the Trumper Marlborough better. I frequently use it after the Harris Marlborough soap to good effect.

Tom - You are quite right. I should have worded my query clearer.

I have sampled the GFT and I do like it. However, its almost impossible to find it with an atomizer, cept at Pastuers in NYC. I like the GFT manly smell, I couldn't stop smelling my hand. But I saw the Harris version online at Amazon for half the price and with an atomizer and wanted to understand what the differences in scents were.

Was the GFT really worth double the price.

The fact its not popular among the posters also implies that I would stand out with my own distinct scent!

Where did you get it? I can only find 100ml bottles of the splash online as well as at GFT.

Trumper's GFT is an incredible masculine citrus scent.

Most long lasting citruses tend to smell synthetic or candy-sweet, not GFT.
It has a very masculine base that never overwhelms the extreemely long lasting lemon/tangerine combo. A bonafide classic for sure.
