Marco's Face Lather Method - Help me find?

Can anyone help me find Marco's great posting on how to face lather? I have read it probably 10 times, and of course now can't find it. A friend of mine is just starting to shave using a DE razor, and I'd like to send it along.

Thanks,
Michael

Michael, if you have read it 10 times you certainly have in mind the basic principle of that tutorial:

***LOTS OF WATER + LOTS OF SWIRLS + LOTS OF SOAP = LOTS OF GREAT, THICK, EFFECTIVE LATHER***

This is actually all you need to know. Thank you, Sir. :001_smile

It's not rocket science. I melt Mama Bear's soap and pour into a nice shaving mug I bought from classicshaving.com. To shave I put a little hot water in the mug and then prep my face. When face is ready I thoroughly soak my brush and give it a couple of shakes. I pour the water out of the mug and then swirl the brush around on the soap for 15-20 seconds. When the brush is loaded and starting to make lather in the mug I start swirling it on my face. Usually the lather begins to form too dry. Dip the brush in the sink (I filled with hot water) and then continue swirling on the face until you get the consistency lather you want. You might need more water or not. Set the brush back in the mug and start shaving. Every brush I have will hold enough lather for at least 3 passes although I usually only do 2 and some touch up. These were a great help when I was starting 4 years ago:

Thank you all, and especially Marco!... I use your method for soft Italian soaps all the time, and it works great every time... I will describe the simple one-line version, but I also wanted my friend to read the original, from the Master himself!

Cheers from Canada.

The Italian Master Barber who taught me this wonderful technique unfortunately is no longer with us. He was a TRUE Maestro in every respect. I'm simply a regular guy who loves B&B and wet shaving. Thank you anyway for the nice words, my friend.

I've been keeping Marco's method in mind when lathering everything (Italian soft soap or no) and I seem to get great results.
