Notes to today’s shave:

Still in. I do see very desirable things on my path, but still ok for now.

My experience is that the NFB is a more harsher feel razor and actually I’ve that works better for me at a more shallow angle - maybe more neutral.

Excellent results again today with a magnificent Personna Red blade.

Further details can be found in my journal here.

Enjoy your shave today!

SOTD March 15th
GRUME March

Hello friends!

To honor this week's SOTD theme I've chosen the only sample I have, which I received from Pasteur many months ago. The soap is from Hendrix Classics and its name is Bond, James Bond. 007 has a license to kill my 2-day beard. Although not tallowate it easily builds lather and provides good protection. I used my Connaught Omega Jade brush which is the color of the 1962 Jaguar E-Type British Racing Green used by David Niven in the original Casino Royale. Merkur Progress (5/4/3) Astra Green (3) and Alpa Windsor were killers.

To accompany us in this unforgettable moment, Dame Shirley Bassey sings Goldfinger.

Have a nice day and great shaves!

Omega 10098 - blooming wonderfull, more & more I go for face-lathering.
Mühle R89 + RR HD handle, not a single nick in March.
Cella.... refuses to give up
PermaSharp betrayed me on the 6th shave. No issues on shave, near BBS in 1.5 passes but AS splash told me different. Some microcuts are there.

Anyhow, FOCS I've been lurking is no longer on stock, so GRUME is going in right direction 🤗

Ok, I think I'm outed. I had to go to Vegas for work for the week. I tried unsuccessfully to bring a tuck of blades with me through TSA as I will be here for a week. So I had to buy a tuck of VDH blades at Target.

Judges???

When I travel - if I have enough notice and I'm not checking a bag - I'll mail some blades to my hotel in advance. Maybe you didn't have time, maybe you didn't think of it... Either way, buying a single tuck so that you can shave at your destination isn't enough to put you out (in my opinion). Heck, you're not even going to be able to bring them back with you!

Feather AS-D2 with aluminum handle, Muhle Rasurkultur (16), Stirling Scots Pine Sheep and Omega EVO 2.0

A couple months ago I used this soap 3 days in a row and felt like I may have had a reaction on my skin. It was excellent today but I don't think I will use it on consecutive days.
The real story is the Feather razor. It felt like I was shaving without a blade. My thoughts were that I must not be getting a very close shave but I was AMAZED to end up with a DFS+ finish after 2 passes and a couple touch-ups. The lighter weight aluminum handle made it easy to use no pressure strokes. The Muhle blade was as smooth as silk.

Please take care of yourself and each other.

Day 15, 48.4% complete.

Preshave: Hot washcloth
Soap: Saponificio Varesino Cubebe
Brush: Yaqi 24mm synthetic cashmere
Razor: GC.84 SB, Al Handle, Wizamet SI #1
Bowl: Turkish copper
Post-shave: Nivea 2-in-1 Aftershave.

Loaded up a fresh Wizamet, @Balin, and decided to use Cubebe this week.

I hadn't used a Wizamet for months, and liked it more than I remembered. It felt better-behaved on first shave than an Astra, which smooth out on #2.

Got a comfortable near-BBS.
