How is horse hair brushes. That is something I really want to try.

I've only tried one horse hair brush so can't really give an authoritative opinion but in my experience horse hair was spiky and scritchy and i wasn't in a hurry to use it again.

The horse hair I have is actually quite soft. And one I made for a friend was just slightly more firm than mine from what I could tell making it but not using it.
So it probably varies considerably.
I like that shape, and it has some great spalting. You got lucky with that tree Steve.
