Mamma Bear-Cologne Scents (anyone try it?)

I'm looking over the Mamma Bear website for my next soap, and was surprised to see a soap labeled Aqua Di Gio (which I occasionally wear). Looking over the various threads I don't see anyone who's used a soap from the "men's cologne favorites" section. If you have tried it, how close is the scent to the real thing? Also, does the scent of Mamma Bear soap last a while? My Col. Conk Bay Rum fades away almost instantaneously.

The only one I have is the Aged Spice. To me it smells exactly like the original Old Spice, and that seems to be the general consensus around here. Whether or not the other soaps in the cologne line match up...I don't know.

I've used her Green Irish Tweed Type (now renamed Dublin Tweed) and found it to resemble the Creed product.

As an aside I've also used Honeybee's Issey Miyake and Vetyvier. Both were very strongly scented, smelled somewhat like their namesakes, but burnt my skin unlike Mama Bear.

I did buy a sprayer of the Ye Olde Barbershopper cologne. It's great! I don't have her other colognes, but in that instance it smells just like the soap but is stronger so will last longer on you.

In general, I don't count on soap to provide any lasting scent. Even the strongest scented soaps tend to fade shortly after the shave. My Mama Bear soap (vanilla sandalwood) doesn't seem to last more than a few minutes after the shave. But it shouldn't. That's what cologne is for.

Thanks for the reply guys. Looks like mamma bear has a good enough reputation that I might as well pick this one up. And like you said, I could always follow it up with the real cologne to get the lasting scent. Its also good to know that its normal for the scent to fade, otherwise I thought my col conk was somehow a bad batch.

Mama B's scents are just superior!
I haven't smell anything that she's made that isn't heavenly :001_wub:
I'm yet to try her colognes, but this post probably just put me over the edge...
