Just received my Mama Bear unscented 100% natural shave soap today. Sadly, it came right after I had finished shaving with my AOS sensitive shave cream. I guess I will just have to try it tomorrow. Any tips with this soap, or is it a fairly straight forward soap? I have hard water if that makes a difference.

That's exactly what I'm using right now. It's very nice and lathers pretty decently in hard water. Enjoy!
I have never purchased unscented but the others I have by Mama Bear are great. If you face lather just load and go.

I've only used a couple of samples so I'm no expert on MB's, but I found that I have to load the melt & pours a LOT longer than I do the other soaps. Twice as long perhaps.
Yep, glycerins like a nice load time.
Yup, I got my unscented puck also. I am glad she is thinking of switching/giving the option of pucks. These pucks are slightly smaller than a Conk/VDH puck. Ready to try it out.
I think the hard water does make a difference. The water where I live is naturally soft and Mama Bear is one of the fastest latherers I have.

I have 3 shaves with the soap so far, and I have found that it takes quite a bit more water than my art of shaving cream. Tried with a bowl and a mug, and I was amazed at the quantity of lather I built up using the bowl. I have decided I like my mug for holding water and soaking my brush. I fill it and microwave it until the ceramic is slightly uncomfortable to hold, drop the brush in and hop in the shower. When I get out the water and brush are at the perfect temperature for use. I warm up/ dampen the bowl and lather up using the remaining mug water to add to my lather or splash my face. This also lets me use less water total which I am definitely happy about. Kinda live in a desert lol. Still need to tap in the lather wetness as it dries my skin out too much currently. Perhaps my skin doesn't like glycerin who knows?
