Mama Bear users in Canada (shipping)

Are there any Canadian Mama Bear's Soap customers lurking? Did you swallow the $26 shipping? (That was my quote for ~5 soaps 1 stick, 1 soap dish)

I just emptied my basket because the shipping scared the crap out of me. $26 on a $40-something purchase seemed not a good use of my money but I'll probably end up going back and buying it anyway

Are there other ways of obtaining Mama Bear products up here?

i bought 2 and it came to 27 bucks with shipping after exchange, which i thought was pretty fair considering how much other soaps cost and what other online stores want to charge for canadian shipping.

Hmm maybe I'll try dropping some products from the basket to see if the lighter weight drops shipping. Because my shipping quote was literally $26 for shipping alone, and the order was only up to $40-something before this point.

And yeah, I'm leaning towards "order anyway" adonnellyr.

My experience, too.

I should pay 30 USD for shipping to The Netherlands, and that really is a bit steep.

The soaps are looking wonderful and worth the try, and the shipping price is fair I guess, so no complaint to Mama Bear implied. I think it is wonderful for these companies to create and develop high quality shaving products.

I had a conversation with the owner of The Dutch Shaving shop (here at Barbershop Classics), about the same phenomenon. Shipping a 5 euro tube of Proraso will cost twice that. That really is a pity.

But then, I still have to convince Nancy Boy to ship to The Netherlands at all

sometimes doing a smaller order won't help because they sometimes have a min shipping cost, regardless of weight up to a certain weight, so it may be better to set up a bigger order or split an order with someone you know, and then the shipping wont seem so outragous, it wouldnt seem so bad if it was 28 bucks for 10 or 12 soaps, even less for 20 soaps lol

Just pulled the trigger! Apprehensively... it was a lot of money to spend on shipping. And yeah, I experimented with fewer/more items, there was a hefty minimum so I you might as well just add everything you want... and I did

Ouch! I just did a shipping estimate for two Aged Spice tubs of Shaving Soap, considering it totals about $15 and change USD before shipping, I am not paying $20 USD get it to my front doorstep here in Southern Ontario, I would have to buy a lifetime supply of shaving soap for the shipping to make sense.

Mama Bears just lost my business which is a pity because I loved Aged Spice shaving soap.

I have taken off the forward to the new site and the old site is still there at www.mamabearssoaps.com and that shipping glitch should not be on the old site. i am camping right now and it is hard to get all of this fixed.. and my webmaster is not communicating with me. The old site seems to have lost the shopping cart so you can't order there.. the new site has issues with the shipping as you have found out. I am kind of between a rock and a hard place. You can order on www.mamabears-soaps.com but the shipping will be messed up for now. I can only say I am trying and I feel aweful. I will get it eventually if I can find some help.. but I am working on it. Thanks to all of you for your patience with me, I really appreciate it..

Well shipping costs are why I order several things at the same time. Shipping costs did jump up quite a bit on my last order and I did notice the postage on the carton was a fair bit lower than what I paid.

The shipping is much more reasonable on the old site. I put two soaps in my cart, and shipping to Canada was $20.75 Priority, or $5.99 First class. Sounds like the new site is only showing the priority international rates.

Thanks for checking into this Sue. You are still on my 'must try' list. Not to mention some potential Christmas gifts for SWMBO.
