Mama Bear Shave Soaps

Hi all,

Thinking of ordering shave soap at Mama Bears. What's your opinion of the shaves with this soap? What are the favorite scents/most popular? Thanks.

Regards,
Michael

There have been many, many threads on Mama Bear's products. While happy to participate in a new one, because her stuff is really, really great, you could also use the B&B search engine. Coincidentally, I used Rosemary Mint this morning. Outstandingly thick lather and wonderful scent. You can't go wrong. I also am a fan of Gentleman's Lemon. This thread may help

Mama Bear gets a lot of love around here & the Czardom is sponsoring a PIF for service men where one of the prizes will be a MB LE soap. Entries close tonight.

As to what scents are most popular or which one to buy.... gosh, just get whatever sounds good. But limit yourself or you will probably want one of everything. My favorite, tho, is the Czardom's LE of Lime-cilantro (not currently available).

I love the Masculine Musk (I have the soap and both aftershaves in this) and the Turkish Mocha is amazing if you like coffee. I suggest picking up a dozen or 3 samples to figure out what ones work best for you as YMMV. The soap is great. Moisturizing easy to lather, and very fairly priced.

I don't think you can go wrong with any of the Mama Bear's soaps. As long as you don't have sensitivity to any of the EOs or FOs used you should be fine. Get something that interests you. AFAIK Czar's Choice is still available, I ordered it a week ago. Plus this soap is a very good value and smells terrific. My favorite is the Patchouli but that's because I like Patchouli, I have about 12 of her soaps total and they are all great.

Has anyone tried the Bacon?

Just to clarify, the first two Czar's Choice soaps (lime-cilantro/original and "fall leaves" / fall edition) are no longer available. Spring 2010/sage-citron is still on the website.

I actually don't get very good shaves with MB soap. I have the dragon's blood soap and while it does smell great, it doesn't lather very well. guess i'm probably doing it wrong

I got some samples and my favorite so far is Amber Romance. I like her flower scented ones too but they just aren't strong enough for me. I really have to stick my nose into the lather to smell anything.

You are definitely having atypical results. It could be technique or your water. It could also be, if the soap is fairly unused, that there's a skin that has formed over the "good stuff" as can happen with some glycerine based soaps. The skin can be removed by soaking the puck in hot water for a few minutes and scratching the surface of the soap with your fingernail or a very stiff (boar) brush.

got 4 -- using for months know all lather excellant --

bonzai, basilwood and lime, cedrwood and lemon- are all of my favs, also love the mandarin ice (menthol more in the winter for me)

I mix with a lil cream for a super lather--- add in a small business and a great lady owner-- with gr8 customer service --- why order any other?

Hmm...are you planing on drying, rolling, & smoking it?

Actually I live in CA...I just need to go to a doc and have them diagnose me with stress or anxiety or something like that and I can get a script for the stuff...who knows after November elections the stuff might actually be legal for recreational use anyway....No, I was just actually curious on how it smelled, I though it to be interesting that they had that fragrance.

As everyone has noted, you cannot miss with any of Mama Bear's soaps. I used her Spicy Lime tonight, and it was awesome. Nice spiced scent with lots of limes and maybe a twist of orange somewhere in there.

I can also attest to the excellent customer service. I had a product arrive damaged, which was not her fault, and Sue promptly sent out a replacement with no questions asked. I will continue to be a big fan of Mama Bear!
