Making progress

Well since working on the re-learning curve... it is the curves not the flats that are though.

When I raced formula cars the curves were the fun part and the straights boring...

So shaving with a straight the flats are not boring... but doing well.
the curves under the chin are posing a bit of an issue as is under the nose.
Nose is still attached so other than a few nicks not too bad.

First 2 shaves were a bit shaky but doing well after about 5 shaves.

Using a great "home made" after shave face moisturizer...
2 capsules of natural Vit. E. , light Olive Oil and a few drops of scent essence.

When 2-3 drops in ones palm are put on the face while still a bit moist after final rinse.

Still on the learning curve... there is the curve again...

Yes there sure is a curve with this, Im 9 shaves in with my straight , last shave was not as good as shave 8, might of been just getting a little frustrated with the results, but Im in it to win the BBS people here speak of. I still need to use the fusion for touch ups but Im going to be cutting all ties with the fusion era of my life. I purchased a EJ DE a few days ago . This will be for doing touch ups when needed after the straight. First will have to learn the DE curve as well , but figure if I have been shaving with the straight now, going back to a DE shouldn't be to awful. And give me a excuse to start collecting DE razor's as well. This is fun stuff I tell ya.

Leche gave me the following advice for the problem area at the top of the upper lip: "Practice. I can get into that area with my round points and my 13/16 wedge. If you pull your upper lip into your mouth, like you are curling your lip under your teeth. You can use your fingertip to further maneuver your nose. "

I followed his advice, really stretching the area out. it worked very well. Hope this workes well for you too.

Glad it is going reasonably well for you. I'm still new, but the improvement is very noticeable in the early stages. I'll bet you will be enjoying your shaves before long.

So far seems to be good.

I started using the stop on the kitchen counter and keeping it flat and that seemed to work better than pulling on it from the hook as it seemed to turn to one side when holding it.

There is - or seems to be a sticky spot in the center part of the strop.

Blade glides smoothly for the first 1/3 then seem sticky-dragging then smooths out again.

When I look at the strop in well lit area the center 1/3 is a bit textured looking as opposed the the very smooth leather of the ends.

I am certailny doing nicely with the cheeks, neck and flats.
Amazing how close it is and smooth afterward.
